... phone... home...

Apparently the UK is a lot more Polonised than it was when I left in January 2007.
This photo was taken outside our local newsagent in the dodgy end of town.

Since the town in question is Sevenoaks*, I suppose I ought to clarify that the 'dodgy end' is where the one-BMW-families live.

Still, five days back and disappointingly little sign of the rumoured hordes of invading Poles ravaging Our Sceptred Isle.

I shall have to search harder...

*see Torygraph ad above phone box.

So, what happened to the "from now on I will only blog in Polish" resolution?

Pinolona is confused. She thinks that this WAS Polish. :D

Pinolona is NOT confused, but she does admit that she may have been a little hasty in her Polish blogging resolution.

Currently she is attempting to stay in contact with the language by reading the bilingual airport magazine she swiped from Krakow Balice (and checking the English translation); although with landline calls at 14p a minute, who knows what may happen:

"Dzięn dobry proszę Pani, mowi Pinolona, poproszę dwa razy z sezamem. Na wynos..."

There are landline calls at as little as 7p a minute (from a mobile) so you could easily call Pani again and complain dlaczego ty czekasz tak długo na to zamówienie i kiedy w końcu to dostarczą...

no właśnie. Obsługa klientów jest okropna. Dostanę napój za darmo czy co...?

7p a minute? That's cheaper than calling the UK! (on Orange PAYG) Hook me up!!
