Left my beloved Kraków now to set up in Brussels but this is by no means the end of my adventures with Polish. Linguistic confusion and cross-cultural misunderstandings still abound. I'm an interpreter, a translator, a musician, I'm learning to cook again and I miss my dog. I think that's got it covered, more or less.

What lovely photos! I especially like the last one with those strange ladybird creatures. Do you know what they're called? (in English or Polish, either one)

Expateek - Thanks, I have no idea what they're called! They were everywhere though. I haven't seen them back home yet. Have you been to Kraków yet? That tree is near to Kopiec Krakusa (Krak's mound) which is just outside Podgórze. It's a lovely walk, even (especially) in winter, when all the red berries start to appear. On a clear day you can see as far as Slovakia.

I'll have to come and check that tree! I've been to Krakow quite a few times now... lots of trips to the Czartoryski muzeum, first and foremost. But "all the way to Slovakia" I haven't seen!
When you're back in Polska, I'd love to meet up with you for a chat, if you're interested.
Pinolona is right. You can see the Slovakian mountains on a clear day.

Anon: I haven't seen the ice-peak; last time I had a really clear view from the Kopiec was in June, so no ice in sight. I'll keep a look out next time though, thanks for the tip!
Expateek: the Czartoryski place is cool! I've only been there once actually but I definitely didn't see everything.
I'd love to meet up for a chat - I'll be back in February (at least that's the plan...) so maybe we can work something out then?
